You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the OFFICE OF SECURITY PROGRAMS of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.

Duties

You will conduct research, analyzes, and applies Department of Defense (DOD) and Department of the Navy (DON) security policies; develops plans, and prepares written instructions for the protection of NAVSEA personnel, information, and property. You will conduct security inspections and risk assessments to determine compliance with and effectiveness of NAVSEA security programs and countermeasures. You will develop recommendations, requirements, and budgetary documents for the physical security program; writes statements of work (SOW) and cost estimates for the acquisition and implementation of physical security projects. You will serve as a contracting officer representative (COR) and project manager, oversees the entire life cycle of physical security countermeasure projects. You will perform key and lock program implementation, management, and process improvement. You will assist with the development, implementation, and management of the NAVSEA Anti-Terrorism Program. You will assist with oversight of armed security force personnel; works with the appropriate authorities to develop post orders to support facility specific requirements and monitor security force performance. You will have Project management experience with integrated electronic and physical security systems to include: intrusion detection systems, physical access control systems, closed circuit video systems, vehicle barriers, fences and gates. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to complete the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) under the SPeD certification program within six months of assignment.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing guidance or advice on security program policies, procedures, or methods to ensure the protection or safekeeping of classified national security information or other sensitive information.
