Duties
Provides customer support in the planning and delivery of IT services including the receipt, acceptance, configuration, installation, and movement of all personal computers and equipment.
Create user accounts using Active Directory, and Manage individual and group Microsoft Exchange email accounts, public folders, CAC certification, distribution lists, security groups and shared folder permissions and rights.
Remediate security vulnerabilities and applying Microsoft patches on workstations and servers in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures.
Evaluates and modifies standard practices of IT techniques as required to meet complex challenges of hardware and software rollouts, imaging, standard configurations, anti-virus applications, patch management, group policies, and program scripting
Work with customers to prepare requirements, system specifications, and other documentation, for use in the design and preparation of data conversion specifications, user manuals and other related documentation per DoD policy and standards.

Oral Communication- briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience
Problem Solving- identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions
In addition to the Basic Competency Requirements listed above, one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-11 in the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: Providing customer support services to include, user management, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and analyzing system or end-user problems to make necessary modifications to the operating system, network software, and hardware; Participating in Enterprise environments such as creating accounts, distribution lists, security groups, permissions, and mailboxes; and installing and providing support for a Local Area Network (LAN), and/or Enterprise Local Area Network (ELAN).
