This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary (OS), Assistant Secretary Policy, Management, and Budget office located in Washington, D.C.
Duties
At the full performance level GS-15 the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Provides leadership and detailed objective advice to the AS-PMB on issues in areas under their purview of AS-PMB.
Conducts liaison activities across the organization and facilitates effective communication to assure the meeting of goals.
Responsible for the completion of special studies of problems, projects, or program implementation that have a broad impact across the AS-PMB, Department, and other federal agencies.
Assist the AS-PMB with strategic visioning and goal planning for the program office.
Monitors progress towards achieving Agency goals and assesses proposed policies, regulations, and legislation for impacts.
Represents and speaks for the AS-PMB in conferences, on task forces, and at committee meetings with Departmental officials and other agencies.
Identifies and develops continuous improvement initiatives at the Department level including the use of strategies for achieving lasting change in processes and organizations.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-15, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: MUST MEET ALL
Analyzing policies, programs, projects and providing interpretations and recommendations to senior leadership;
Conducting liaison activities, on behalf of senior leadership, with stakeholders inside and outside of the organization;
Advising senior leadership on current and proposed policies and legislation that may impact the organization;
Monitoring the needs of an organization to identify immediate and long-term issues and problems; and
Preparing briefing papers, white papers, reports, and/or other communication pieces relevant to processes and policies for senior leadership and overseeing the coordination and executive level readiness.

This position is being advertised as both location negotiable after selection and with a duty station of Anchorage, Alaska. If applying to "negotiable after selection", this means that your duty station will be based off your home address and you will be a full-time remote worker. If applying to a specific duty station, you may be allowed to telework a set number of day(s) per pay period, with supervisory approval".
Salary Information
Salary listed below is for Anchorage, Alaska. If applying for a virtual location, your pay will be set for the city in which you live.
Alaska: $162,365 - 191,900 per annum
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
