Duties

Responsible for making, cultivating, and sometimes even repairing relationships with the US Defense Industrial Base at the senior level. Responsible for the ideation, planning, and implementation of all Technical Interchange Meetings(TIMs) with GVSC’s industry partners. Participates in the leadership team that forecasts how to engage with industry and the GVSC workforce. Regularly interacts with senior leaders across all GVSC Business Groups as well as the executive team and provides briefings, overviews, and recommendations to these groups. Assists management officials within GVSC and DEVCOM in defining project and collaboration scope, priorities, and staffing with an emphasis on projects and events that cut across organizational lines. Collaborates and advises GVSC senior leadership on strategy and execution of GVSC’s high level industry outreach events, such as Industry Days, the Michigan Defense Expo(MDEX), and the Ground Vehicle Systems Engineering Technology Symposium (GVSETS). Assists the event planning team in event planning, setup, and execution of all events, and actively participates in 1 on 1 engagements with industry partners at events. Develops reports, briefings, and assessments of GVSC’s interaction with domestic industry partners. Leads project team(s) in defining customer critical to quality factors, defines and implements process improvements on key initiatives that result in significant improvements in value to the organization, and effective and efficient use of resources.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE 02/GS-11). This position is part of the Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project. CCDC Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Personnel Management Demonstration Projection. The DE-03 pay band is equivalent to the GS-12 step 1 through GS-14 step 10 grade levels.
