About the Position: The Program Executive Office, Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS) is responsible for providing world-class affordable, relevant and sustainable ground combat vehicles to Joint Warfighters. With a focus on developing current and future systems, PEO GCS is leading the production and management of all combat vehicles for the Army.
Duties
Provides direction, advice, and support, ensuring that the Program Executive Office’s (PEO) human capital strategy is linked to the organization’s mission, vision, core values, goals, and objectives.
Oversees and guides PEO managers in their collaboration with personnel specialists in finding solutions to management problems.
Keeps abreast of new developments, policy, and regulatory guidance from higher authorities in all areas, and provides an assessment of the impact on the PEO Strategic Plan and human capital strategy.
Initiates and conducts complex evaluations of strategies, mission objectives, resources, organization, and operations.
Performs the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties.
Assigns work to personnel according to workload, ability, and priority of the assignment(s) and provides instruction and assistance as necessary on problems or issues.
Confers with employees to discuss progress or unusual aspects of assignments and administrative problems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel away from your permanent duty station requirement of up to 10% of the time.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: in order to qualify for this position based on experience your resume must describe one year of specialized experience at the NH-03 level in the Federal service performing duties such as: (1) leading and facilitating groups through a problem-solving process; (2) planning, directing, coordinating, and executing various human asset management functions; (3) tracking workforce planning and personnel development for an organization including DAWIA II requirements, mandatory training, and leadership development; (4) analyzing and coordinating organizations manpower and personnel requirements.
The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 (or GS-13 equivalent).
