About the Position: The Program Executive Office, Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS) is responsible for providing world-class affordable, relevant and sustainable ground combat vehicles to Joint Warfighters. With a focus on developing current and future systems, PEO GCS is leading the production and management of all combat vehicles for the Army.

Duties

Serves as the Director of Operations or Operations Officer for the Program Executive Officer (PEO) or Program Manager (PM). Serves as the principal adviser to the PEO on operational planning and information requests (taskings). Develops policies for and manages PM programs for current operations. Acts as initial PEO POC for all Government and non-Government requests for information. Coordinates, prepares, and staffs Army Leadership Notes and ASA(ALT) reports. Plans, directs, coordinates, and reviews the work of subordinate staff engaged in carrying out assigned program responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel away from your permanent duty station requirement of up to 25% of the time.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
  • Selectee must meet position requirements for practitioner certification in (A) Program Management within 60 months as of entrance on duty.
  • This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP).
  • This position requires a 3-year tenure agreement. Must sign DD Form 2888 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement) and execute, as a condition of employment, a written tenure agreement.
  • Position is designated Security Cooperation Workforce and must comply with conditions of employment outlined in the interim Implementation Guidelines for the DoD Security Cooperation Workforce Certification Program 2.0, November 6, 2023.
  • The incumbent must complete certification-related training requirements in the SC Area of Concentration (AoC) within the timeframe associated with the position's SCW certification level.

The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 (or GS-13 equivalent).
