About the Position: You will serve as the Deputy Chief of Staff, G3 Operations and Plans, key advisor to the Commanding General and Chief of Staff (CoS) regarding the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Armament Command (TACOM) Operations and Plans Directorate.

Duties

Exercise full authority, managerial responsibility and control over all aspects to act on issues pertaining to the Operations and Plans Division. Authority and responsibility for providing the highest level of technical operations advice regarding program planning, development, execution and evaluation related to TACOM operations. Conduct special analyses and develops plans to establish and maintain a strategic management process for TACOM to enhance the execution of assigned mission within the LCMC Enterprise Community. Serve as the senior strategic planning expert, analyst and advisor on a broad spectrum of issues. Responsible for the direction and control of operations, beginning with planning through completion for all assigned responsibilities and requirements. Oversee the daily operations of the division and technical supervision of the staff exercised through subordinate branches and supervisors.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires a 3-year tenure agreement. Must sign DD Form 2888 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement) and execute, as a condition of employment, a written tenure agreement.
