You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFORMATION SECURITY) of INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION N6.
Duties
You will have knowledge of and skill in applying methods for evaluation, implementing, and disseminating cybersecurity tools and procedures (Assured Compliance Assessment Soultions (ACAS).
You will have knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Enterprise Mission Assurance Support System (e MASS).
You will have the ability to develop, implement, and coordinate activities designed to ensure, protect, and restore IT systems, services, and capabilities.
You will have knowledge of and skill in applying IT Assessment and Authorization requirements under Risk Management Framework.
You will have knowledge of network operations, ports and protocols and computers forensic principles.
You will have the ability to monitor and evaluate compliance with cybersecurity requirements.
You will have the ability to provide advice and guidance in implementing cybersecurity policies and procedures.
You will have thorough knowledge of DoD and DON IT cybersecurity directives and regulations.
Requirements

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area (722 Information Systems Security Manager) level Intermediate.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Identifying vulnerabilities, risks, and protections; 2) Configuring and deploying patches and fixes; 3) Planning and coordinating the installation of hardware and software; 4) Gathering and analyzing security violations and coordinating the appropriate responses in accordance with established guideline; and 5) Handling classified and declassified information originated or controlled by public or private agencies.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
