About the Position: Serves as a Section Chief for the Army Board for Correction of Military Records, a Directorate of the Army Review Boards Agency.
Duties
Supervise team chiefs and review completed work for accuracy, completeness, and quality.
Assure that workload and project responsibilities are delegated and assigned to subordinates.
Review and analyze applications and supporting documents to identify the complexity of issues to determine existence of error, injustice or inequity.
Provide advice and guidance to the Director, Army Board for Correction of Military Records, Board Operations Manager and Board Members on cases presented to the board.
Identify and coordinate for board member attendance and participation in board operations.
Evaluate overall board operations (pre- and post-board operations) to ensure board findings and recommendations follow applicable laws, regulations, policies and directives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in the development of guidance, resources, training, and professional development; resolving complex military human resources matters; applying knowledge of administrative and judicial processes used to correct miliary records; and providing high quality case analysis and written summaries. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
