You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROTOCOL SPECIALIST for FLEET PROTOCOL, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & DIRECTOR OF STAFF of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET.

Duties

You will plan, direct, coordinate, execute and supervise the conduct of visits to COMPACFLT and Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) by Office of the President, Vice President, Appointed Secretaries (DoD, DOS, etc.) You will set performance standards and evaluate work performance for civilian and military staff assigned to the Protocol Office including counsel, advice or instruction on work and on administrative issues. You will identify individual developmental needs of subordinates and makes provision for satisfying those needs. You will supervise protocol related to budget, security arrangements, flag support, special cultural arrangements for foreign visitors, escorts, seating, entertainment parking, lodging, food, public affairs, and tours and briefings for each event. You will develop programs associated with assigned visits and activities and ensure continuity for ceremonial events in the preparation, development and execution. You will ensures protocol offices of other commands are advised of all distinguished, flag, staff delegation, and congressional delegation visits and respective itineraries are integrated and distributed. You will develop, suggest and/or process instructions, guides, supplementary material and pertinent correspondence. You will design and develop biographical sketches for high-level guest speakers and hard copy programs for events. You will work with the Flag Secretary, Flag Lieutenant, and Executive Assistant to maintain the Commanders daily calendar, make appointments and arrange conferences and meetings. You will plan, coordinate and execute official social functions as well as direct, plan and supervise various types of conferences. You will plan, supervise, and direct the operation of DVIP Guest House and Makalapa Beach House.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, coordinating, executing, and supervising the conduct of official visits and social functions for a Command or organization.
