Duties
Analyzes, plans, and evaluates directorate functions to determine validity, propriety, accuracy, and adequacy of work processes.
Reviews and analyzes a variety of reports received from internal and external sources, including reports produced by automated systems.
Performs quality control examinations of operations, policies, procedures, and internal controls including the analysis of data and information with the objective to prevent and detect deficiencies in the operation of functional area systems.
Receives special projects pertaining to improperly processed transactions resulting from newly legislated and implemented entitlements.
Serves as team lead. Communicates the organization's mission, vision and values to the team and ensures they are integrated into team goals, objectives, work plans, products and services.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: performing reviews and analyses of financial programs through examination of existing regulations, internal controls, functional requirements, policies and procedures, transactions, or systems outputs to ensure the overall effectiveness and efficiency of finance and accounting operations.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
