Serves as an engineering technician with responsibility for performing a variety of assignments concerned with the assigned metrology and calibration functional area. Performs calibration of precision measurement references and working standards that support the Army calibration program.
Duties
Serves as an engineering technician with responsibility for performing a variety of assignments concerned with the assigned radiation metrology and calibration functional area.
Performs calibration of precision measurement references and working standards that support the Army RADIAC calibration program.
Assembles, adjusts and maintains complex and moderately complex measurement systems to minimize errors and insure maximum operational performance.
Collects data and prepares reports documenting these efforts to provide certification for primary- and secondary-level laboratory standards and systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent of the position must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires Temporary Duty Travel at 10%.
- This position requires the incumbent to lift up to 50 lbs.
- This position requires a Pre-employment Physical Examination.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Education AND/OR Experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing a variety of assignments of metrology and calibration; experience performing calibration of precision measurement references and working standards that support the Army calibration program.
OR
successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field directly related to the work of the position such as: Engineering. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and work experience the total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
