About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Administrative Officer for the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC), 1ST Medical Recruiting Battalion. Provides advice to management on administrative operations, civilian and military personnel management, and special projects.
Duties
Provides advice and guidance on overall organizational, personnel and administrative matters.
Provides individual customer service to soldiers in the areas of personnel and finance.
Directs the Battalions MWR, alcohol and drug abuse prevention and control, equal opportunity, and safety programs.
Reviews and analyzes administrative directives and policies to determine impact on operations.
Assists in the development of policy, guidance and instructions for effective and efficient management in the command.
Requirements
- A one-year Probationary Period may be required
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret Security Clearance or access for the duration of employment. .A background investigation and credit check are required.
- TDY approximately 10%.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing and analyzing administrative directives and policies; evaluating administrative policy; knowledge of all aspects of personnel services for civilian and military; advising management on civilian and military personnel matters, experience with personnel readiness management, personnel accounting and strength reporting, and casualty operations management.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Public Administration, Administrative Professional. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
