Duties
Provide a full range of executive management services to include staff counsel, administrative expertise, program management, and analytical functions essential to the DEVCOM Command Group.
Analyze and manage the agency’s tasks and actions, ensuring suspense dates are met using internal tracking systems.
Manage the DEVCOM process that assigns responsibilities to subordinate commands/units and the DEVCOM staff on behalf of the Command.
Provide management information, advice, and assistance to the Secretary of the General Staff (SGS) on any programs/projects assigned.
Assist the SGS by providing information to assist with planning and research of events that fall within the Protocol area of responsibilities.
Exercise technical judgment in areas of personnel, finance, operations, and logistics to assist the organization in fulfilling mission requirements.
Provide guidance on a wide range of topics including, but not limited to, policy, budget and manpower allocations, physical space utilization, personnel management practices, health, safety, and security.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Secret security clearance required.
- Temporary duty travel (TDY) up to 20% of the time.
- One-year probationary period may be required if not already completed in accordance with 5 CFR criteria.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applying analytical and evaluative methods to assess and improve management processes and program effectiveness; 2) Facilitating the coordination and execution of a full range of principles, concepts, and techniques for command level events such as, but not limited to, ceremony's, dignitary visits, leadership meetings, conferences, town halls, and change of command events AND 3) Providing guidance and direction to Protocol Officers on interpretation of protocol polices pertaining to protocol programs, ceremonies, events, command intent etc.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-???????12).
