About the Position: Serve as the Acquisition Management Support Officer on contract acquisition projects involving complex and highly specialized programs for the organization in the Resource Management Branch for the Directorate of Prevention, Resilience, and Readiness (DPRR), Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), G-9. Relocation incentive MAY be authorized subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations.

Duties

Develop and manage the directorate acquisition strategy and provide contract oversight. Recommend and justify type of contract best suited to meet the directorate’s needs. Oversee assigned acquisition efforts within the organization to provide guidance to PMs, CORs, and COR-RAs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position may require occasional TDY travel up to 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing acquisition portfolio to reduce risk to mission by eliminating bridges, gaps, and non-required sole sources; performing in-depth review and analysis of monthly contractor status reports to verify progress and/or addresses problems in meeting program goals; assisting with developing documents such as performance work statements used to for contract specifications as well as the procurement package documents such as DD Form 254; and assisting with ensuring quality support of procurement needs of the customer to make sure they are compatible with existing policy, regulation, statute. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Acquisition StrategyContracting/ProcurementInformation Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
