About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army Security Assistance Training Field Activity, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. The Hampton Roads/Tidewater area has all the conveniences of a big city with charm of small town and rural areas.
Duties
Research policies and regulations that apply to the execution of Security Cooperation/Security Assistance Training to develop sound and supportable recommendations based on these findings to senior leadership, and higher headquarters.
Responsible for maintaining organization data bases and program records for the U.S. Army Security Assistance training programs for all foreign countries and international organizations within assigned geographical training program.
Responsible for planning, programming, and scheduling Security Assistance training programs for all foreign countries and international organizations within assigned geographical area of responsibility.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The position requires DoD SC Workforce (SCW) Certification. Must complete certification-related training requirements in the security cooperation area of concentration within the timeframe associated with the position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or remove.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25 % of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one- year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involved: 1) Interpreting and applying Federal Civilian HR laws, regulations, policies and practices to provide advice and guidance on a variety of HR functions (e.g. recruitment flexibilities, benefits, classification, position management, etc.) (2) Use HR automation to query and analyze human resources data to make recommendations for process improvement (3) Designing and presenting human resources information systems workforce training (4) Performing staffing functions throughout the entire recruitment lifecycle from vacancy verification through onboarding. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
