This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Operations Management (OM), Arlington VA.
This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as the coordinator for OC for domestic and foreign operations budget and program related inquiries and requests for information from DEA senior management, DOJ, OMB and the Congress, and performs special projects or analyses concerning funding and resource allocation, as required.

As a Budget Analystyour typical work assignments may include:
Manages and coordinates the planning and execution of the Operations Division annual financial plan.
Researches and analyzes the effectiveness of the Operations Division budget and processes.
Reviews audit results to address compliance issues that may arise.
Verifies, enters, and adjusts budgetary data.
Prepares in-depth analyses, reports, and recommendations for management to ensure innovative and sound Agency resource management decisions for fiscal years.

You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in: 1) Performing studies relating to budgetary procedures and policies, program efficiency and accomplishments, to include cost-benefit analyses on proposed new programs; 2) Implementing audit recommendations pertaining to funds control management; and, 3) Performing studies relating to budgetary procedures and policies, program efficiency and accomplishments, to include cost-benefit analyses on proposed new programs.
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in: Performing studies relating to budgetary procedures and policies, program efficiency and accomplishments, to include cost-benefit analyses on proposed new programs; 2) Advising Agency personnel on funds control and financial systems budget procedures and processes; 3) Providing fiscal/budgetary policy and regulatory guidelines for the organization; and, 4) Reviewing and analyzing program office requests for realignments or reprogramming of current year funding and increases to prior year funding.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
