About the Position: This position This supports the lease acquisition and management/real estate for various Leasing Programs of Real Estate.
Duties
Reviews market surveys produced by staff to determine most economical and suitable sites.
Reviews leases and rental agreements for office space and housing to assure compliance with established real estate law, regulation and current policy, lease management throughout lease term, assuring compliance under the terms of the lease.
Sets priorities, oversees progress, and resolves conflicts related to Real Estate projects.
Plans, administers and directs building management functions for office space or housing through Lessor support or requirement contracts to provide utilities, janitorial or maintenance services, troubleshooting or alterations.
Preparation and presentation of Program briefings on a regular basis.
Inspects, accepts or rejects deliverables during contract performance and at close out in conformance with contract terms and conditions.
Negotiates complex leases, licenses, and permits for recruiting, housing, (OCONUS and CONUS) Army Reserve, Air Force, and other customers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.

Specialized Experience for the GS-1170-13: One year of specialized experience which includes all of the following: 1) Negotiating with individuals/representatives in situations involving the acquisition of real estate interests and leasing; 2) Preparing leasing documents and rental agreements for housing or office space to assure compliance with all real estate laws and current policy; 3) Providing technical guidance and advice on housing and leasing issues to peers and higher authority; 4.) Administered acquisition planning and contract award process related to real estate. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
