About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Senior Realty Specialist for the Acquisition Branch established within the Real Estate Division with a variety of assigned projects involving the civil and military real estate program within the District.
Duties
Apply real estate policy to handle controversial actions that conflict with policy
Perform major land acquisitions for military and civil lands
Provide technical oversight for assigned program actions
Resolve sensitive encroachment cases
Keep managers abreast on any real estate related issues which may affect project schedules
Provide technical support to legal staff in preparation of litigation
Keep apprised of status, quality, quantity of work
Apply, utilize, and implement the use of real estate automated systems
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Travel up to 50% of the time may be required for training and/or site visits.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating and providing technical and guidance on commercial real estate lease acquisitions. This experience must demonstrate the following; 1) researching, interpreting, and applying laws and policies regarding real estate actions; 2) identifying, obtaining and preparing documentation needed to plan and execute real estate leasing actions; and 3) communicating policies and procedures both orally and in writing on real estate transactions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
