You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Electronic Warfare Branch (Code 292), Combat Systems Weapon Division (Code 290), Chief Engineer (Code 200A), Engineering Department (Code 200) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
Duties
You will plan work to be accomplished, set and adjust short term priorities, and prepare work completion schedules.
You will develop staffing plans to address prioritized capacity and capability needs.
You will provide technical review of products and services provided by the branch to ensure their technical and political suitability and serviceability is aligned with the customers needs and technical standards for naval vessels.
You will establish and maintain metrics and measures that are aligned in support of command, department, division, and branch initiatives and goals.
You will engage with maintenance teams and the repair contractors to ensure timely and technically acceptable solutions are identified for the repair of U.S. Naval Ships on systems within the Branch's area of responsibility.
You will communicate and collaborate with the Navy's technical warrant holders, ship design managers, and in service engineering agents on technical matters involving the naval systems.
You will collect, track, and monitor system performance outcomes associated with system assessments and inspections for the purpose of gathering system performance data and identifying chronic system issues.
You will draft and issue reports addressing technical issues or concerns regarding branch assigned systems to proactively promote improvements.
You will convey technical information to appropriate levels of management both within and outside of MARMC to ensure timely, concise and relevant information flow.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You are willing and able to accept a temporary promotion not to exceed one year.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience implementing engineering, technical, and logistical knowledge related to design, assessment, repair, maintenance, modernization, testing, operations, and troubleshooting of a wide range of shipboard systems.
Experience analyzing findings and developing recommendations in the adjustment or program plans, objectives, and resourcing to accommodate changes in a multi-faceted and complex work plan.
Experience utilizing manuals to create briefing reports for higher level presentation and naval correspondence.
Experience communicating orally and in writing to negotiate and resolve conflict and to draft reports that convey technical or procedurally complex subject matter.
Experience organizing, directing, and supervising a varied workforce as a recognized Electronic Warfare Subject Matter Expert.
Experience implementing knowledge of fleet maintenance and modernization regulations to direct the planning and coordination for modernization initiatives.
