You will serve as an Engineering Technician (Civil) in the Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division, Public Works Department of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will provide design and other technical expertise for the NAVFAC MIDLANT and the commands served.
You will prepare studies, designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates for a wide range of shore facility projects.
You will serve as a technical advisor to other journeymen technicians and lower grade technicians on complex engineering problems.
You will make and prepare preliminary design studies, establish design criteria, and outline the detailed design scope of large projects.
You will prepare correspondence, status reports, economic analyses, engineering studies, fact sheets and technical reports.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing civil engineering designs that meet functional and aesthetic requirements, and producing final working drawings for demolition of, or modifications to, facilities such as operational facilities, personnel support facilities, housing, and other facilities found on military installations. 2) Analyzing plans, specifications, cost estimates, and project documents for compliance with NAVFAC and DOD criteria as well as customers' needs. 3) Applying knowledge of budgeting, planning, and project management techniques, including the ability to coordinate the work of others and motivate and lead individuals of a variety of backgrounds. 4) Using computer software including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database type software as well as SPECSINTACT word processing software, and SUCCESS cost estimating software. and 5) Making oral presentations of proposed designs and results of studies.
