You will serve as a SHIPBUILDING SPECIALIST in the Waterfront Department (Code 300), Waterfront Operations Manager (300A), Small Craft and Unmanned (360), NECC Craft (363), Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
Duties
You will review and evaluate contractor's condition reports and recommendation for additional work and provide rationale for approval or disapproval.
You will develop, review, and negotiate modifications to original specifications and new work specifications for work to be accomplished by the contractor.
You will prepare work specifications and cost and time estimates.
You will serve resolve matters pertaining to manufacturing and repair processes on the ship under contract.
You will perform inspections of installations and report discrepancies to proper government authority.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience developing/writing detailed reports, recommendations, contract modifications and correspondence.
Experience in quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure that government standards are adhered to.
Experience interpreting blueprints and specifications.
Experience assisting with tests upon completion of work to assure that complex ship's systems are functioning to design requirements and ensures that test results are documented.
Experience maintaining material control and investigating availability of material, sources of supply or manufacturers and possibilities of substitutions.
Experience performing inspections of ship overhaul, repair, or modernization to determine compliance to contractual specifications or requirements.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience assisting with tests upon completion of work to assure that complex ship's systems are functioning to design requirements and ensures that test results are documented.
Experience interpreting blueprints and specifications.
Experience performing inspections of ship overhaul, repair, or modernization to determine compliance to contractual specifications or requirements.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-9
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
or
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
