The primary purpose of this position is to serve as subject matter expert providing expert technical guidance, leading, planning, and managing special projects and initiatives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of mission operations and address especially complex problems for the organization.
Duties
1. Provides staff assistance and action officer support, developing centralized program/process quality control/standardization, and process oversight.
2. Provides seasoned consultative advisory services and helps formulate direction on a wide range of strategies, goals, and procedures pertaining to organizational operations, functions, and activities affecting a workforce of 1200 at multiple geographically separated units.
3. Leads, organizes, and successfully executes a variety of diverse and/or high visibility special projects, events, taskers, and meetings.
4. Initiates, plans, and conducts studies and initiatives for the Directorate, including ongoing assessments of overall operational performance, achievements, and effectiveness based on goals and objectives.
5. Prepares and delivers written reports and oral presentations e.g., briefings, training sessions, consultations, orientations, and discussions with leadership, supervisors, stakeholders, and co-workers to convey key Directorate information; may conduct or lead conferences.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Postions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant has or will have within 120 days of closing this announcement at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to DO-01/GS-11 grade level or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes but is not limited to working with a team and/or independently developing and implementing processes to improve knowledge operations services across the organization; initiating, planning, and executing special small to large-scale projects and studies for the front office support group; and developing and presenting written reports and oral presentations for organizations of over 2000 personnel.
