Serves as an Electronics Technician providing organization technical support for a multitude of highly complex integrated systems which directly support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Academy systems.

Duties

Responsibilities may or may not include inspection, oversight, planning, developing, coordinating, deploying, implementing, maintaining, and replacing systems of assigned facilities and/or systems. The incumbent is required to interact with personnel from the FAA Academy and representatives both internal and external to the FAA.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • May be required to serve a one year probationary period.
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.
  • Pre-Employment Physical is Required.

Qualifications

To qualify at the FG-9 level, you must demonstrate in your application you possess one (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the FG-7 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience includes: Network administration, Linux or UNIX, computers, electronic principles and practices involved with troubleshooting and analysis, repairing equipment, and communications. Experience with information technology, electronics, and/or NAS Automation Systems.OREducation: Two full years of graduate education or a master's degree meets the requirements for FG-9 only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. (Transcripts will be required)ANDPhysical Requirements: You must be able to perform efficiently the essential functions of the position without hazard to yourself or others. Selectee must pass a pre-employment physical prior to appointment.If your qualifications for this position are based on education, you must submit a transcript of your college coursework by the closing date of the announcement. Qualifications must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
