You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Physical Security Branch, Security Office, Executive Staff Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will ensure that all inspections and reviews are being completed in accordance with DOD, Navy and NAVSEA requirements.
You will interpret complex physical security instructions to execute Security functions and to perform security checks including PHYSEC lighting surveys,
Controlled Industrial Area (CIA) inspections, surveillances, etc.
You will establish daily operating procedures to ensure compliance with security instructions and directives.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the key and lock control program that protects all of the shipyard buildings/ facilities/ Gates
You will coordinate Police/Guard services with the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) Security Division in providing the necessary police protection for the shipyard complex and Controlled Industrial area (CIA).
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
For the GS-11
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting physical security inspections and recommending solutions to security violations; executing a key and lock program; and operating computer based Access Control systems in order to safeguard information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material.
For the GS-09
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting physical security inspections under the guidance of senior physical security specialists; providing support for the execution of a key and lock program; and operating computer based Access Control systems in order to safeguard information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
For the GS-11
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
Possession of an LL.M. that is related to this position being filled.
