You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the FORCE PROTECTION DIVISION of COMMANDER NAVY REGION HAWAII. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.

Duties

You will implement innovative methods and techniques to satisfy security policy and operational requirements for security program. You will maintain awareness of current federal policies, directives, and procedures, and evolving innovative approaches to Anti-Terrorism, Force Protection, law enforcement, and Physical Security education and training. You will develop a comprehensive mandatory Operations Security (OPSEC) orientation and annual awareness training program for organization personnel. You will coordinate the command's security awareness and education program for command personnel.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Plans, formulates, and coordinates all matters pertaining to the protection and security of personnel, property and material against terrorist threats; 2) Coordinates with all Region activities, tenants, agencies and staff offices on a regular basis to ensure modifications affecting the programs are understood, disseminated and implemented; 3) Identifies vulnerabilities in Antiterrorism (AT) infrastructure and addresses resourcing needs in order to reduce the threat of terrorist attacks as required; 4) Develops and implements clearly articulated protection and Antiterrorism program requirements for the Region and subordinate commands. Incumbent is a technical authority on Antiterrorism and Force Protection policies, plans and operations; 5) Conducts comprehensive review, analysis, and synchronization of assigned units/agencies, tenants, sub-commands, installation and region Antiterrorism (AT) plans and documentation is in place at the organization being assessed; (NOTE: Your answer must be supported by information in your resume.
