You will serve as an AWARDS ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST in the Flag Secretariat (N004) of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET.

Duties

You will serve as the Awards Administrator of the Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT) Awards Board. You will provide technical advice and assistance to all levels of management officials within COMPACFLT subordinate commands and operating forces on civilian and military awards actions and issues. You will administer a variety of civilian and military awards, and analyze and evaluate awards program accomplishments, deficiencies, and problem areas, and recommends corrective actions, when necessary. You will assist in the oversight of administrative support work produced by the COMPACFLT staff and support personnel. You will analyze administrative processes and recommend revisions to policies, procedures, and training tools. You will provide guidance necessary to resolve difficulties experienced by COMPACFLT staff when implementing administrative processes.   • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS 11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing and evaluating an awards program to recommend solutions, provide administrative support, and develop or execute policies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization. GS 09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing and evaluating an awards program to provide administrative support and execute policies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For the GS-11 grade level:
  • Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
  • Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; OR
  • Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled, OR
  • A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
For the GS-09 grade level:
  • Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR
  • Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree; OR
  • Successful completion of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled, OR
  • A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
