Duties
Serves as a Protocol Specialist within the Executive Services Office for Headquarters, U.S. Army Futures Command (AFC).
Plans, coordinates, and executes all protocol related functions for the AFC leadership.
Applies knowledge of the principles, methods, practices, and techniques associated with the execution of the Protocol program.
Applies expert skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals involved in or being affected by events/activities associated with the program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
- One year probationary period may be required.
Qualifications
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
GS-12 Grade Level: Specialized Experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Planning protocol support services and social functions in honor of senior-ranking government and military leaders, diplomats, foreign military representatives, and distinguished dignitaries; 2) Providing recommendations and assisting in the development of new methods and approaches to a protocol program; AND 3) Communicating (oral and written) with senior level leaders and staff within an organization and with external customers in order to provide information and guidance.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
