You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the office of the Public Affairs Directorate (USPACFLT N01PA) on the Staff of Commander of the of OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FACILITY.

Duties

You will plan, initiate, and implement comprehensive public affairs campaigns. You will plan public affairs portion in command working groups for exercises, events, and contingencies. You will create informational marketing and communication materials (i.e. fact sheets, new releases, statements, exhibits, brochures, articles, etc.) concerning programs and activities. You will market and communicate command messages to internal and external publics. You will serve as an official spokesman for the command when communicating with new media organizations and other parties. You will initiate and maintain contacts with public information and public affairs officials, to include local, national, and international organizations interested in the environmental and conservation aspects of the Navy's and USPACLFT's programs. You will create, post, and maintain static and dynamic digital media content for commands website and social media accounts. You will create, edit, and post video productions, podcasts, on-line photography and news stories You will recommend improvements based on the feedback from affected or interested audiences.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and assessing public affairs program data to develop strategies and presentations for achieving an organization's objectives.
