You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC AFFAIRS DIRECTORATE of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET.

Duties
You will serve as the lead Public Affairs Officer for digital media in the Pacific Fleet.
You will be solely responsible for content that reaches audiences worldwide, including media used on a regular basis throughout Area of Responsibility (AOR) from Japan, Australia, Korea, etc.
You will provide technical expertise to other PAOs, action officers and Mass Communication Specialists involved with the internet, directing, managing and coordinating digital media programs and special projects.
You will evaluate and analyze information problems in communicating Commander Pacific Fleet's (COMPACFLT's) programs, and provides
guidance, advice and assistance to COMPACFLT staff and subordinate commands.
You will monitor, evaluate and provide advice and assistance regarding subordinate command public information programs to ensure effectiveness of overall command digital media programs.
You will evaluate information problems encountered in communicating COMPACFLT and Navy’s programs.
You will be responsible for obtaining, creating, posting and maintaining in a timely manner static and dynamic
digital media content for the COMPACFLT Public Affairs Office.
You will independently prepare responses to media and public queries, public affairs guidance and plans, communication plans and other public affairs products, as required.
You will serve as a spokesperson for the command in communicating with representatives of news media organizations and other parties seeking information about the command on issues that vary from routine to controversial.
You will Initiate and maintain contacts and effective working relationships with Information and public affairs officials of local, state and federal governments, extension services and other cooperating agencies.
You will independently write public information, marketing and industrial relations plans, and public information annexes to operations and exercise plans, covering the overall public affairs program.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting a digital and social media program for an organization, using multiple social media platforms as well as social media management tools to convey information and publicize the organization's mission, and exercising full editorial responsibility for directing the development and production of content for the command's digital presence, including web and social media.
