You will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in the Surface Operations Department of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

Duties

You will report policy, processes and workload status to NAVSUP WSS senior leadership and multi echelons of the Navy. You will analyze system procedures and solutions for the Navy supply business processes in the areas of such as Planning and Forecasting, Financial Logistics Integrated Requirements Report, Stock in Transit and others. You will oversee the Division support of the Department's utilization of supply chain management processes, procedures, and tools to enhance the availability of materials to meet submarine and aircraft carrier customer requirements. You will plan work, sets priorities for completion of work, and assigns work within the Division.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Logistics Management Specialist work directly related to Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) concepts, policies, procedures and techniques and their application to Weapons System acquisition, management, and sustainment. I have experience performing the duties of a supervisor to include work prioritization, employee advisement/guidance, planning, assigning, and assessing work performed by subordinates. Specialized experience must include the following: 1) Analyzing complex relationships in life cycle logistics support planning, acquisition policy, supportability analysis, and program management and the ability to lead the Integrated Logistics Support Division; 2) Reporting policies, processes and workload statuses to NAVSUP WSS senior leadership and multi echelons of the Navy; 3) Managing general supply system developments, automation and other technological changes, and new managerial techniques, and evaluating their impact on the applicable NAVSUP WSS policies, systems, and procedures; 4) Planning and prioritizing the completion of work, and assigning work within the Division.
