You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST (Government Special Access Program (SAP) Security Officer) in the INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS DIVISION of NAVAL SEA SYSTEMS COMMAND.

Duties

You will manage the efforts to develop, mature, evaluate and implement the Special Access Program (SAP) with a focus on minimizing duplication of effort. You will provide training on the safeguarding of Special Access Program (SAP) information, personnel, property, assets and/or materials from theft, disclosure, espionage, natural disasters, or compromise of information or material. You will establish documents, standard processes for use throughout the organization and ensure new technology and lessons learned are incorporated in processes. You will assist associated facilities for visits and personnel security actions, Special Access Program (SAP) program indoctrinations, and maintaining day to day operations. You will monitor implementation and compliance through site assistance visits and inspections. You will manage and coordinate resources to support the innovation, integration and implementation of program requirements in support of NAVSEA HQ. You will perform studies, analysis, and evaluation of existing and new programs to develop or improve effective work methods and procedures for utilization and control of information. You will brief special committees and represent the command and other government organizations at various meetings and discussion groups.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance (Top Secret SCI) prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position requires passing a counterintelligence polygraph examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (or GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing a security program to ensure compliance with security policies, procedures or processes for the protection of personnel, information, facilities, operations or materials from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage or sabotage.
