You will serve as a SAPR Command Victim Advocate (SAR WF) in the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

Duties

You will provide professional and comprehensive advocacy services to individuals exhibiting a wide variety of issues related to being a victim or survivor of sexual assault. You will conduct assessments with clients to determine required needs and evaluates safety and levels of risk. You will maintain follow-up contact with the victim as requested by the victim. You will develop and implements an appropriate plan of action in crisis situations. You will draft related program correspondence for review and approval.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • In accordance with DoDI 6495.03: Must be able to obtain and maintain D-SAACP certification.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Providing sexual assault advocacy services; developing and implementing crisis plan of actions and sexual assault assistance plans; assisting with developing and coordinating command SAPR prevention and awareness campaigns or events; and conducting education and training sexual assault workshops/seminars. Basic Requirements

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

or

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

or

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
or
master's or equivalent graduate degree
