You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the Naval Supply System Command (NAVSUP) Business Systems Center (BSC). of NAVSUP BUSINESS SYSTEMS CENTER.

Duties

You will assist with development and implementation efforts. You will oversee the quality assurance certification on all accomplished work. You will apply Information Technology (IT) principles and knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems to provide analysis in performing design and development efforts. You will support application development initiatives by allocating system resources, administering system software, ensuring system functionality and maintaining system configurations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.Specialized experience includes the following duties: 1) Assist with development and implementation efforts for applications to enhance the use of UNIX/Linux operating system software in support of web-enabled distributed processing and network communications; 2) Interpret and apply DoD and Navy security regulations for IM and IT policies, processes and guidelines; 3) Apply Information Technology (IT) principles and knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems to provide analysis in performing design and development efforts as well as identify potential improvements and efficiencies; 4) Support application development initiatives by allocating system resources, administering system software, ensuring system functionality and maintaining system configurations; and 5) Develop and implement software diagnostics and testing methodology for resolving hardware, software, and/or communication problems within the Business System processes.
