You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) - First-line Supervisor of the 9822 Tech Services Division, a group that performs OS-level administration, architectural services, and middleware support of Navy ERP.

Duties

You will function as the first-line Supervisor of the 9822 Tech Services Division, a group that performs OS-level administration, architectural services, and middleware support of Navy ERP. You will perform the full range of duties as a first level supervisor including evaluating performance of subordinates and assigning and reviewing with employees their annual performance rating. You will ensure personnel receive required training for their positions. You will ensure that effective IT practices are employed, that the IT development and production environments are effective and compatible with internal and external standards and procedures and that all pertinent laws. You will provide oral and written communication to senior leadership, customers, colleagues, team members on technical services for Navy ERP.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Strategic Planning and Policy level II within 12 months of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Evaluating performance of subordinates and assigning/reviewing with employees their annual performance rating; 2) Preparing schedules for accomplishment of these tasks and reviews performance against these schedules; 3) Ensuring key resources/team leaders provide technical guidance to assigned department employees; 4) Providing specific and general guidance for the accomplishment of these tasks and reviews products; 5) Communicating support of EEO policies to subordinates and executes EEO policies within the division; 6) Presenting and communicating findings, options, solutions, and recommendations to management; 7) Supporting Navy ERP in the procedural, technical, and planning aspects of automated systems and policy; and practices pertaining to new and/or improved business processes; 8) Build and manage an IT workforce based on organizational goals, budget considerations and staffing needs; 9) Assisting with identification of the required system changes resulting from new process, procedure, or policy requirements in the process area.
