Duties

Interprets, recommends and develops/drafts actions to amend existing legislation and regulatory guidance in response to identified challenges. Participates in the development/drafting, revision, publication, and implementation of policy and procedures which incorporate managed care principles and access to care processes/activities. Participates in the development and drafting of policy and procedures that affect/direct the command and subordinate organizations' execution of managed care principles. Acts on behalf of the DHA Director via appointed DHA representative on Enterprise Integrated Product/Process Teams (IPTS), Councils, and Working Groups. Serves as a primary action officer for presentations and briefings to various DoD and Service-level conferences, committee groups, and public forums with beneficiaries regarding managed care and access to care or related subjects. Serves as an HCO Division primary action officer for oversight of the managed care support contractors.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the identification of operational goals for a military health service delivery system; developing processes to improve healthcare efficiency; and participating in the development of corrective actions plans, policies, and/or procedures for the command. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
