You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Steam Main Propulsion Branch (Code 263), Main Propulsion and Electrical Division (Code 260), Chief Engineer (Code 200A), Engineering Department (Code 200) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
Duties
You will plan work to be accomplished, set and adjust short term priorities, and prepare work completion schedules.
You will develop and evaluate subordinate employees' performance standards.
You will forecast branch workload and resource requirements and manage available resources to provide engineering, technical, and logistics support.
You will monitor and oversee the work of MARMC Subject Matter Experts in the troubleshooting and repair of Steam Main Propulsion Systems and associated systems on board U.S. Naval Surface Ships.
You will analyze and evaluate communication systems and associated equipment failures and trends considering design, installation, in service application, reliability, and the ability to be maintained, supported, tested, and operated.
You will prepare engineering and technical reports containing findings, conclusions, proposed corrective actions, risks, and recommended course of action.
You will participate in advancing MARMC and Engineering Department strategic planning initiatives to promote continuous improvement.
You will convey technical information to appropriate levels of management.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience demonstrating a strong ability to understand and resolve challenging technical issues, showing proficiency in the areas of Steam Main Propulsion and technical authority policies and requirements.
Experience analyzing finding and developing recommendations in the adjustment of program plans, objectives, and resourcing to accommodate changes.
Experience assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees, and ensure subordinates have the capabilities and resources to accomplish their tasks.
Experience providing guidance and technical oversight for delivery of maintaining proper performance of shipboard systems and components for which MARMC has installation, repair and/or modernization responsibility.
Experience managing Subject Matter Experts (SME) and providing support during all phases of a ships readiness cycle.
Experience conveying technical information to appropriate levels of management within and outside MARMC to ensure timely, concise and relevant information flow.
