You will serve as a Information Technology Specialist (Data Management) in the Business Systems Center (BSC) of NAVSUP BUSINESS SYSTEMS CENTER.
Duties
You will serve as a senior Oracle Middleware Administrator for highly complex and integrated Technology (IT) systems and related projects.
You will provide solutions to multiple complex problems simultaneously to ensure web systems availability and accessibility across multiple hosting facilities.
You will design, normalize, develop, install, and implement web infrastructure and troubleshoots communication issues between the other systems and middleware products.
You will ensure secured components and access to them by performing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), resolving vulnerabilities identified by ACAS, patching, upgrading and integrating systems.
You will be responsible for the integration and functioning of Oracle Database Management System software and the Oracle Fusion Middleware suite of products.
You will collaborate with application development teams to create an Advanced Security Layer for their Oracle Systems/Databases.
You will work closely with Enterprise Architects, vendor representatives, hardware/software specialists, and data center hosting facility personnel.
You will create and maintain technical documentation including standard operations processes, preventative maintenance procedure, etc.

Qualifications
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

2. 3. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include Communicating, explaining, or defending ideas or information clearly. Listening to others and recognize potential miscommunications.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include Using logic to identify alternatives to solve technical problems. Identifying and solving problems by gathering and applying information from a variety of materials or sources that provide several alternatives.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Envisioning and preventing problems encountered by application programmers in Database Management Systems (DBMS) and Database structures; 2) Evaluating the required actions and impacts on systems of implementing DBMS upgrades and patches; 3) Performing data design and definition using a range of data analysis, design techniques, approaches, and information sources; 4) Identifying problems to propose enhancements using knowledge of programming design techniques; and 5) Clearly expressing ideas, concepts, and technical information both orally and in writing.
