You will serve as a Security Specialist of COMMANDER - NAVAL INSTALLATIONS.

Duties

You will analyze the Physical Security program of structures and facilities within the command and tenant activities. You will identify deficiencies to improve program compliance with directives and policies. You will compose reports to deliver security program guidance throughout an organization.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to obtain/retain Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) certifications to include the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and the Physical Security Certification (PSC) within two years of on boarding.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing project management, policy, and advice on matters of Force Protection to include Physical Security (PHYSEC), Antiterrorism (AT), Law Enforcement (LE), Operations Security (OPSEC), Insider Threat (InT), Defense Critical Infrastructure Protection (DCIP), Access Control, and Mission Assurance (MA) programs for the command to ensure compliance with applicable policy directives; 2) Managing, implementing, and/or directing security programs, exercises development, training team oversight and policy for an activity to meet mission requirements; 3) Safeguarding information, personnel, property, assets, or material to prevent, deter, and minimize theft, loss, misuse, fraud, disclosure, espionage, or sabotage; 4) Providing technical and operational support during planning, execution, and follow up of Force Protection exercises; 5) Plan, manage, and/or implement policy and procedural guidance on all programs related to security installations personal and property.
