This position will act as the Administrative Support Assistant in support of the Administrative Officer (AO) for the Mental Health Service (MHS). The incumbent directs and performs all administrative functions to include human resources management, evaluations, awards, Telework packets and data analysis. You will provide technical and administrative guidance necessary to achieve the optimum use of support service resources such as training and problem-solving.
Duties
Duties include but not limited to:
Assist service management with human resources functions to include staffing, workforce projections, writing position descriptions, developing job analysis, preparing performance plans and appraisals, disciplinary actions, and awards.
Provide input on staff performance, appraisals, awards, and training needs.
Provide required documents within required timeframes for hiring actions, FTE requests, and performance appraisals.
Assist in writing position descriptions, job analysis, preparing performance plans and appraisals, processing training requests, and drafting disciplinary and adverse actions.
Provide administrative orientation to new employees.
Extract data needed for quarterly clinical chart reviews and analyze the results.
Identify steps for improvement of processes that might be opportunities for applying standardization across the Mental Health Service.
Assist with performing data collection, analysis, tracking, and reporting.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Qualifications

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: experience performing administrative functions providing continuous monitoring of clerical duties to ensure timely office operations and internal customer satisfaction; and experience utilizing office automation to maintain files, generate reports and create documents.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.
