Job opening: SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Salary: $92 279 - 119 964 per year

You will serve as a Supervisory Engineering Technician in the Facilities Eng & ACQ Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will determine best practices for key work processes and standardization of work procedures to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. You will advise leadership on technical requirements based on the results of inspections or assessments. You will direct Engineering Technicians providing construction management, contract technical support, and site management for project assigned to. You will monitor construction to assure compliance with contracts provisions and standards. You will assign work to employees based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing construction reviews of plans and specifications for technical soundness and practicability; 2) Utilizing construction project scheduling knowledge and expertise to track progress of projects; 3) Preparing technical analysis, cost estimates, and reviews engineering designs for proposed changes; 4) Ensuring contractors' compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
