Duties
You will prepare job plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accomplishing tasks regarding possible asbestos and lead exposure.
You will prepare change orders for additional work or changes from original scope.
You will prepares cost-reimbursable or fixed-price job plans for funded projects.
You will participates in planning conferences with production controllers, other engineering technicians, engineering, environmental, and safety personnel and customer activities on complex projects to advise customers as to scope of work.
You will prepare contract documents ( drawings, specifications, cost estimates, etc.) for Category III and IV construction and maintenance contracts for maintenance and repair, renovation, and renewal of real property and equipment in the AOR.
You will prepare detailed material and labor estimates using estimating handbooks and/or Means databases and standards for Category III and IV construction and maintenance contracts and modifications.
You will provide project support to shop forces as jobs are executed, making site visits as requested to evaluate and make effective suggestions for resolving unforeseen field problems.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- May at anytime be temporarily assigned to another site with the NAVFAC MIDLANT area.
- This position is classified as a critical position and the employee is required to report in emergency situations and inclement weather.
Qualifications
GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following :
1) Applying standardized rules or operations to perform limited projects that involve specialized or complicated procedures.
2) Identifying and correcting deficiencies to resolve operational problems not fully covered by precedents.
3) Interpreting and adapting guidelines to resolve specific engineering problems with minimal review by leadership.
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following :
1) Applying standardized rules or operations to perform basic projects that involve specialized or complicated procedures.
2) Identifying and correcting deficiencies to resolve simple operational problems not fully covered by precedents.
3) Interpreting and adapting guidelines to provide solutions for specific engineering problems to leadership for review.
