About the Position: This position is located at the the Soldier Support Institute, Resource Management Office at Fort Jackson, SC.

Duties

Plans work to be accomplished, identifies areas of concern to higher management, and suggests viable solutions. Performs budget functions in the execution of an annual appropriated fund budget for a major organizational segment or program. Formulates, justifies, presents, and executes all budgets within the assigned areas of responsibility. Maintains the account systems to include the General Funds Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), Work Area Workflow (WAWF), Funds Control Module (FCM), Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army), Defense Travel System (DTS) and TRADOC Decision Lens.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) monitoring and tracking obligations, expenditures, and allotments; 2) performing analytical, technical, and administrative duties in one or more phases of the budgetary process such as budget formulation, justification, and presentation; 3) analyzing budgetary and financial data to validate their projections. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as accounting, finance, or a related field. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget AdministrationBudget ExecutionBudget Formulation, Justification, and PresentationComputer Skills Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
