About the Position: Serves as the Logistics Support Division Budget Analyst with responsibilities in assisting Program Manager in the formulation and justification of budget requests, and execution of annual operating budget, located at Fort Jackson, SC.

Duties

Serve as the Logistics Support Division Budget Analyst with responsibilities in assisting Program Manager in the formulation and justification of budget requests, and execution of annual operating budget. Monitor and track obligations for Chaplain Corps’ programs throughout the execution phase of the annual operating budget. Coordinate funding requirements from Army Active and Reserve Component Commands. Identify funding trends and problems. Track and reports on Total Army program budget and execution rates. Develop annual spend plans.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of this position's time.
  • This position requires FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 Certification. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves analytical, technical, and administrative duties in one or more phases of budgetary process, such as guidance, budget formulation and justification, presentation and enactment, execution, or the development of budgetary guidance; and responsibility for a segment of an organization's budget, programs, and/or organizational structure. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Financial Management, Business Management and/or Accounting. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget AdministrationFinancial SystemsOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
