About the Position: This is a permanent position that serves as a Budget Analyst with the USAG Resource Management Office Budget & Accounting Branch, FORT JACKSON, SC
Duties
Serves as a Senior Budget Analyst in the Program and Budget Division, Garrison Resource Management Office (RMO).
Assists the Budget Officer through active involvement in administering the total budget program.
Interprets budget policies received from higher headquarters and publishes local implementing directives and regulations.
Provides budget and technical leadership for the development of cost estimates associated with long range multi-year studies.
Ensures the distribution of funds received from higher headquarters is in accordance with approved programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- You may be expected to travel up to 5% for this position.
- Financial Management Level 2 certification required within 12 Months of entrance of duty.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in (1) Analyzing and reviewing budgetary funding within an organization; (2) Identifying sources, types and methods of funding for assigned organizations and programs; (3) Analyzing budget policies to determine efficiency and effectiveness; (4) Experience in governing budgetary policies, procedures and regulations to assure that budget forecast, estimates, and submissions conform to requirements, and (5) Utilize automated systems such as General Fund Business System (GFEBS), Defense Travel System (DTS) and Wide Area Workflow (WAWF). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
