You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Naval Facilities Engineering Command of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII. ***This Job Opportunity Announcement is using an additional online assessment tool to evaluate applicants. Duties

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You must have completed the Defense Information School (DINFOS) Public Affairs Qualification Course (PAQC) resident or non-resident distance learning course. Have you completed this course?
  • You must complete the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Acquisition 101 Fundamentals of Systems Acquisition Management distance learning course within five years of initial employment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor: You must have completed the Defense Information School (DINFOS) Public Affairs Qualification Course (PAQC) resident or non-resident distance learning course. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing strategic communication plans; 2) Utilizing various communication methods including drafting news releases, fact sheets, brochures, or other content that increases communication and understanding with the public; 3) Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other federal agencies and military commands, members of target media and command members with diverse cultural backgrounds; 4) Communicating orally and in writing; and 5) Utilizing various communication methods including drafting news releases, fact sheets, brochures, or other content that increases communication and understanding with the public.
