About the Position: The installation rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio.

Duties

Serves as a Public Affairs Specialist with responsibility for planning and executing the Command Information (CI), Public Information (PI) and Community Relations (CR) activities. Plans, designs, and executes a comprehensive, communication campaign to convey information about US Army Garrison Fort Cavazos. Provides guidance and assistance to the Fort Cavazos Public Affairs Officers. Designs, plans, and executes a public affairs campaign of major national scope and significance involving the conveying of information about complex research and development programs affecting a large and diverse number of people. Develop and apply new approaches to the most difficult and complex PAO problems at Fort Cavazos.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, for duration of employment.
  • Incumbent may be required to work nights, weekends or holidays in support of mission requirements.
