You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (DATAMGT) of NAVSUP BUSINESS SYSTEMS CENTER.
Duties
You will design and modify the storage structures and mapping of databases, determine user membership roles, space requirements, data compression, and backup and recovery methodology.
You will assist with coordinating the implementation of new databases and database upgrades, perform security patching and ensure established security mechanisms are in place and functioning properly.
You will provide configuration management and capacity planning services to include monitoring system utilization, providing system resource reporting.
You will investigate unusual problems encountered by application teams/customers and recommend or implement cost/time effective solutions.
You will evaluate and recommend action to updates and changes to the DBMS offered by the vendor.
You will conduct formal training sessions to the other Database Administrators (DBAs), provide technical advice/support to other team members concerning database operations, and assist with on-the-job training of interns.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
At the GS-11 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Ideal candidates for this position will be able to perform the following duties: This position requires potential candidates to perform their main duties within the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data manipulation sector. Candidates must possess (2-5 years) of background knowledge and experience of software tools specific to Linux/UNIX, vi Editor, Oracle, SQL Developer. Candidates will have technical experience to provide Interface Support to existing Applications YellowBrick, Informatica (Developer and Admin Console), Netezza PDA, and Coginiti; New Interface creations via Application Service Requests (ASRs), along with troubleshooting issues and daily routine maintenance duties. Experienced and working knowledge of IT systems security, integrity requirements analysis, testing, procedures, and methods. Possess technical certifications Informatica, PowerCenter, Level 1 Developer. Have technical work experience with NDP DI, NBIS CAV, and Fusion Center 2.0, to perform design functions associated with business modeling, data modeling, data warehouse management, and data administration.
