About the Position: This position is located at the 88th MDG, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. -Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. -Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Duties

Plans, organizes, directs, and manages the 88 MDG Sustainment of Trauma and Resuscitation Skills Program (STARS-P) ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Partners with local civilian trauma centers to maintain trauma and resuscitative skills of medical personnel assigned to the institution. Collaborates with institution's organizational leadership and education/training personnel to assess organization's learning needs, specifically those learning needs that can be met with simulation activities. Collaborates with civilian partners to coordinate on-going clinical rotations. Ensures program effectiveness, including introduction of labor saving devices, automated processes, and methods of improvement; and the resources to devote to particular programs. Establishes metric and analysis systems to assess efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory procedures.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
