About the Position: This position is under the supervision of the Field Support Operations Directorate, Logistics Assistance Division. Serves as the Senior Command Representative (SCR) for the United States Army Tank automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) representing the command leadership to the key staffs and other offices important to the United States Army, Army Materiel Command (AMC) and TACOM.

Duties

Serves as United States Army Tank automotive and Armaments Command’s (TACOM) trusted agent and a conduit to the supported organization and facilitates two-way communication vital to TACOM support mission. Collect, evaluate and forward data relative to equipment and support problems, identify patterns, trends and recommend actions to resolve those problems. Represent the commands positions on various issues and provide feedback to command on reactions of the agencies concerned. Provide Situational Awareness to Commander and Staff on readiness issues impacting supported Unit equipment within the supported Area of Responsibility. Identifies and assists with a wide variety of processes and methods that cover virtually every technical aspect affecting Unit equipment readiness

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Position is Emergency Essential (EE) in support of the US Forces during periods of increasing tension, mobilization, and war. (Chapter 75, Title 5 USC; FPM Chapter 753) DoD EE Civilian Employees are required to sign a DoD Form 2365.
  • DoD EE Civilian Employees stationed in Foreign Overseas areas will remain in-place in the event of hostilities or mobilization.
  • The employee may be required to travel 25% of the time.
  • The employee is required to sign a mobility agreement, AMC Form 2884, IAW AMC-R 700-19.
  • Valid U.S. State driver’s license is required to obtain a military and/or international driver’s license for exercises, deployments, or assigned to a foreign duty station.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid host nation vehicle operator license when assigned OCONUS.
  • The employee must meet current physical and functional requirements IAW AMC-R 700-19 and the current MOD to USCENTCOM Individual Protection and Individual -Unit Deployment Policy before employment and annually.
  • The employee must always maintain a valid "No Fee" (Official) and a Tourist Passport at the agency’s expense.
  • The employee cannot be a Reserve Component or National Guard member subject to recall to active duty. The employee must report military recall status to management to effect removal from the Ready Reserve or exemption from retiree call-up.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
